James M. Baggs, DVM

Dr. Baggs


A native of West Texas, Dr. Baggs was reared on and around ranches and animals of all sizes and types. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture Degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2001. In 2006, he graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. Before moving back to Bryan to take over West Villa Maria Veterinary Clinic in 2007, Dr. Baggs practiced large and small animal medicine near Corpus Christi, Texas. In addition, Dr. Baggs is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennie, and their three children (Jarrett, Jackson, & Jessie).

Professional Memberships: American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), Brazos Valley Veterinary Medical Association (BVVMA).


Julia LeMaistre, DVM

Dr. LeMaistre was born and raised in San Antonio where she grew up an avid equestrian. After graduating from Texas A&M University in May of 2016,she joined  West Villa Maria Veterinary Clinic as an associate veterinarian. Dr. LeMaistre has a special interest in large animal medicine and has spent an extended period of time in South Africa practicing wildlife medicine and conservation. She enjoys the challenges of treating all species of animal from elephants to tiny chameleons and all that are in between. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time outside with her two dogs, Sadie and Owen, and her horse Kenya.
